Moira Jarvis (1949-2018) worked for many years as an art teacher, examiner and artist. She completed an MA in Fine Art (painting) at Wimbledon College of Art, was part of the Cannizaro ACAVA studio group, a committee member of South London Women Artists, and edited ArtVerve, an online publication.
Moira’s early drawings, paintings and prints were influenced by her initial training at Cambridge School of Art as well as her early career as a successful freelance textile designer in London and New York. Moira drew from observation throughout her life in.
Over the last ten years Moira focused on projects about the natural world, its importance for our psychological and physical wellbeing, and the vital role trees, forests, bees, and ancient waterways play in our fragile ecosystem.
