Moira Jarvis worked for many years as an art teacher, examiner and artist. She completed an MA in Fine Art (painting) at Wimbledon College of Art, was part of the Cannizaro ACAVA studio group, a committee member of South London Women Artists, and edited ArtVerve, a online publication.
Moira’s early drawings, paintings and prints were influenced by her initial training at Cambridge School of Art and early career as a successful freelance textile designer in London and New York. Throughout her life she drew from observation and the landscapes were often of the Fens, nearly Ely, where she grew up.
Over the last ten years Moira focused on projects about the natural world, its importance for our psychological and physical wellbeing, and the vital role trees, forests, bees, ancient waterways play in our fragile ecosystem.
